Filmmaking is a form of visual poetry.
"Here he is, one of the greatest of us all, the originator and master of the minimalist epic, the visionary who has raised the cinema of humanity to an unprecedented level of purity, the reluctant teacher who
modestly confronts you with truths so profound that they will blind you with their luminous clairvoyance, the outrageous provocateur with an exhilarating capacity to make statements about his ideas and methods at which you
will be so shocked that you will likely howl out loud, albeit joyfully."
Mike Leigh
Abbas Kiarostami was a pioneering Iranian filmmaker, photographer, and poet, recognized for his profound influence on contemporary Iranian cinema. Born on June 22, 1940, in Tehran, Kiarostami gained international acclaim
in the 1990s with Close-Up, 1990 known for his minimalist style and exploration of existential themes and human relationships.
He revolutionized storytelling with unconventional narrative structures, long takes, and naturalistic performances, often blending fiction and reality. His films, rich in universal themes like love and loss, used subtle
gestures to evoke deep emotional responses.
Kiarostami's work extended to photography and poetry, integrating his visual and literary passions into his films. culture. His innovative approach and commitment to the human condition have left a lasting impact on global
cinema, inspiring filmmakers worldwide. He passed away on July 4, 2016, but his legacy endures through his influential body of work.
This section summarizes the ten items that were taken into consideration. They were selected according to relevance and heterogeneity criteria to present a range of entities related to the figure. They form a complex relationship network with the filmmaker at its center.
After selecting the area of study and the 10 representative items, sourced from various institutions like libraries, archives, and museums, the initial phase of their analysis involves the Knowledge Organization Process. In this stage, the gathered data are systematically described and modeled, capturing different degrees of abstraction.
The Conceptual Map offers an initial overview of the descriptive process, illustrating all the data derived from the various items in natural language. It clearly outlines the relationships between these items and the central concept.

The Conceptual Map is converted into an E/R Model, a visual depiction that enables a more abstract description of the data. In this model, people, places, dates, and subjects are represented as Entities, while their interconnections are depicted as Relationships.

The next phase involves revisiting the institutions and item providers to conduct a detailed analysis of the metadata they use for description. This entails identifying the standards and guidelines they adhere to. For those without
a clear declaration, we used either the most commonly adopted standard for that type of institution or a more general metadata standard deemed appropriate for the specific provider.

After establishing the various standards, the next step involves comparing and aligning the metadata elements and properties significant for describing the domain based on the standards' vocabularies and rules. Any aspects that lack correspondence are marked as "N/A".
Delving deeper into data interpretation occurs through the Theoretical Framework. Here, beginning with items, subjects, and relationships within the study domain, we searched the web to gather additional pertinent information. This aims to address the following inquiries:

The Theoretical Model, initially developed in natural language, is subsequently transformed into an Enhanced Entity/Relationship (E/R) Model. This refined version builds upon the previous E/R Model, incorporating the enhancements made during later stages of development.

A heightened level of abstraction is achieved in this phase, as we transition from the theoretical model to the formal representation offered by the Conceptual Model. Here, an ontological methodology guides us, where subjects and
relationships outlined in the theoretical model are restructured using appropriate classes and properties derived from existing schemas, vocabularies, and ontologies.
These are the ontologies that we used:

At this stage, each item is described according to the properties already adopted in the Conceptual Model, realizing one table for each item where the three columns correspond to the triple's elements -subject, predicate, object- and each row represents a statement.

Three notable items sourced from various institutions were chosen as focal points for the RDF Production process. Initially, URIs were generated to describe key entities within these selected items. Subsequently, prefixes for the relevant ontologies were defined, and triples were constructed using Turtle serialization. These triples emphasize relationships among the items and their entities, aiming to link with other relevant resources and authorities wherever feasible.

The turtle/rdf representation is produced using python. you can see the python code here.
This is also the link to the raw code of Turtle file.

The book "A Wolf Lying in Wait: Selected Poems by Abbas Kiarostami" was chosen for text processing operations, and, a TEI/XML file for several pages of the book was prepared. Using Python and based on an XSL stylesheet file, an HTML representation of this file was then generated. In the final task, a Python script was used to produce a Turtle/RDF output of the XML file. Since the selected text was a poem, additional triples were created from the TEIheader element of the TEI/XML file. The triples included the number of poems, language, genre, and lines from the text to produce the RDF.
